CS3 DAS Control
CrashSoft 3 Type Editor
CrashSoft 3 Type Editor provides the basic structure for all components (transducers, dummies, vehicles ¡¦) that can be used in a test. It also defines how the ISO location codes are created in later tests.
It comes with a large set of predefined locations, which will be adapted to your company¡¯s needs during the software training.
Because of this preparatory work, error-prone procedures like generating ISO location codes and using the suitable transducer types on their fitting locations are almost automated.
The Type Editor is also equipped with a powerful permission and access management system, to prevent the predefined locations from being accidentally changed.
CrashSoft 3 Component Manager
CrashSoft 3 Component Manager is the central place for managing all of your crash facilities¡¯ equipment like dummies, sleds, barriers, transducers and vehicles.
The Component Manager is designed to manage multiple facilities, so it is possible to track the movement of equipment from one laboratory to another. With a centralized database it¡¯s even possible to coordinate laboratories in different countries.
The user interface is fully customizable and individually saved for each user.
No matter if you search for sensitivity and offset data, pinnings, calibration and test dates or even storage information ? All possible information is visible at a glance. Powerful search and reporting features as well as an integrated task list support your every day work.
All changes are completely back traceable and a sweeping undo function lets you correct faulty insertions. For quality management it is also possible to set the whole software to any past date and time with a simple mouse click.

With MESSRING¡¯s next generation data acquisition system M=BUS it is even possible to read a complete ATD structure and all sensor and calibration information. A new dummy is ready for test in less than 5 minutes. Real-time interfaces to
CrashSoft 3 Test Preparation and Execution
CrashSoft 3 Test Preparation and Execution offers you a simple drag and drop interface to set up your tests on all MESSRING and selective third party supplier data acquisition systems.
The graphical layout makes it easy to prepare test setups even for inexperienced users. According to your company¡¯s structures tests can be planned as templates and can even have a time-shifted channel and transducer assignment.
Configurable controlling functions prevent your employees from entering faulty data and help you bring all tests to a successful end.
The test execution itself can either be done in the same application (e.g. for out-of-position or drop tower test) or gets passed to CrashSoft 3 Facility Control for an automated test run.
The acquired data can be viewed, analyzed and exported into various formats. Of course the interface is again freely configurable and saved for each user. All administrative functions, like the permissions management, are also integrated.
CrashSoft 3 Workshop
CrashSoft 3 Workshop is the main tool for data analysis and report generation.
It comes with a set of predefined analysis according to the MDVFS Task Group¡¯s Crash Analysis Criteria Description which can freely be extended or modified by the customer.
A fully documented, BASIC like programming language, called CrashSoft Basic, is also implemented as well as a bunch of fully programmable controls for viewing, mathematical operations and exporting data. In conjunction with Microsoft Office, the Workshop becomes a powerful, programmable reporting tool.
The Workshop itself can be deployed throughout your whole company without licensing restrictions.
CS3 DAS Control
CrashSoft 3 Facility control provides both, the test setup and execution, for complex crash facilities. During the onsite installation, the software gets customized by MESSRING service engineers to fit the customer¡¯s facility.
Test preparation
The first step to prepare a test is performed in a wizard style dialog, where the operator enters the test parameters.
The wizard continuously checks the operators input against the facility parameters and gives warnings and hints to prevent faulty insertions and subsequent damages at the facility.
According to the customer¡¯s needs, camera and lighting systems are also set up in this wizard.

The facility tests can either have their own, hard coded DAQ setups or can be connected to a DAQ setup created in the Full or Light version.
Test execution
The second step is the test execution itself, where the previously prepared test is run at the facility.
The interface shows all critical gauges to the operator but has also an integrated step-by-step logic, synchronized with the facilities PLC, to guarantee a successful test execution. This three-stage (PLC, software, operator) controlling concept reduces the risk of errors to an absolute minimum.
The high adaptability guarantees that all MESSRING and even most non-MESSRING subsystems can be integrated into the test sequence.
Data analysis
The data analysis, as last step, is run automatically after closing the process control and shows again the highly integrated design of all MESSRING software, since a custom built CrashSoft Basic script is run inside the CrashSoft 3 Workshop to calculate, export and report the test results.
CS3 Calibration Modules
Dummy and Transducer Calibration
MESSRING continues the successful strategy of a three level software architecture. As extensions of the Component Manager, calibration modules are available, which consist of an ergonomic and plain user interface, user adjustable scripts and the underplaying enterprise level database.
All scripts and test templates are adjusted to the customer¡¯s existing test stands and needs during the software rollout. Even advanced evaluations like multi-axis-transducer-crosstalk are possible.
The calibration modules also feature a slow data recording mode for hydraulic test stands.

Depending on selected components a stand-alone test, a test group or even a sequence of test groups can be executed by a single click. Wizard style dialogs guide through the calibration process, ensuring quick and accurate results.
The acquired data gets contemporaneously analyzed and is displayed as rated numerical values as well as graphs with limit lines.
The reports are based on full user customizable templates and are generated automatically after the calibration test.
All calibrations are stored in the database and are thereby completely back traceable for quality inspection.
DAQ Calibration
Conceptual the Data Acquisition Calibration Module tends to be more a stand-alone application then the dummy and transducer calibrations are.
This results from the multipurpose design of MESSRING¡¯s calibration board, which can not only calibrate MESSRING devices but also third party data acquisition systems.
Above all the calibration board and software can be used as waveform generator and transducer simulator, which can import measured sensor data and dump out the signal.
Once more MESSRING relies on user customizable scripts and reports and a possible integration of the software and all its output into the enterprise database architecture, giving all the necessary quality, traceability and monitoring features (also available in the other modules).

CS3 Light
Aside from CrashSoft 3 Full are several, so called Light Applications available, which are supplied with the MESSRING data acquisition devices.
The Light Versions are designed as single workplace solutions but can be implemented in a corporate environment with CrashSoft 3 Full.

For the NA3x series the Light Versions feature a sensor database and a test preparation and execution application. Enterprise functions, like permissions management and managing ATDs and components, are not implemented.

The automatic ISO location generation and checking is stripped from the Light Versions, but part of it are basic reporting features and the history for transducer value changes as well as exporting and analysis features.

Owing to the intelligent hardware design of M=BUS including the Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS), the corresponding Light software comes as simple step-by-step wizard that guides through the test and is therefore easiest to use.
So it is possible to start running test without training. All instructions are given by the clear arranged software tool.
